Boycott Frenzy: There Is a Better Way

Stop It Already!

Last week, Laura Ingraham, the host of the popular Fox network show, “Ingraham Angle,” spoke of anti-gun progressive activist David Hogg and his lamentations on the pain of not being accepted into colleges in a now-deleted tweet. The tweet set Hogg off on a twitter bullying spree geared towards destroying her show. Hogg may be young, but he appears to follow the liberal playbook by pulling a stunt used many times by progressive activists across the country. He began rapid firing tweets demanding the boycott of all advertisers of her show. In response, conservatives have called for a boycott of the companies that heeded the call of Hogg to drop her.

The amazing thing about this is that all involved are scrambling to do harm to each other because a 17-year-old got his feelings hurt by a truth that he tweeted. The victim card works wonders, doesn’t it? It does not help that Ingraham herself posted a sappy, Easter themed apology to Hogg, who deemed it not enough and began making absurd demands and deleted a tweet which contained information Hogg himself supplied.

This Is Insane, People

A kid, unless he is demanding the abolishment of the second amendment, is controlling everyone involved in this latest of his shenanigans. People are willing to cut themselves off from services that better their lives in order to hurt each other. Progressives boycotting companies because they advertise on a show whose hostess hurt a teenager’s feelings is not any wiser than Conservatives boycotting companies because they pulled their advertisers, which hurts themselves in doing so.

The main question to these people is, “What the heck is wrong with you?” Hogg is a kid, merely a child! He is an adolescent playing a high school game. His stunt on Twitter is tantamount to a toddler in the middle of the grocery store screaming because you called his sucker a lollipop. A voice of reason is necessary here. Enter Kyle Kashuv, a voice of reason who very wisely asks:

When did acting like a fool become popular?

Stop it! This Is Stupid!

Those on the left, including David Hogg, have screamed that no one should pick on a kid, especially one who survived the Parkland mass shooting, and they are absolutely correct. No one should target children who were part of such a horrific event in the sanctity of their school. Meanwhile, these same survivors should not be shoving anti-gun propaganda down our throats with their demands to repeal the second amendment. Children should not be demonizing law-abiding citizens and the nation’s oldest Bill of Rights defender while giving the people who failed Parkland and its children a pass.

Two wrongs do not make a right, for that matter. By boycotting the companies involved, it only gives David Hogg and his leftist buddies more attention. Like most children, any attention is better than no attention, and they are hungry for it. We need to model better for these children who have no gift of foresight and let these companies hurt themselves as they cower and cave to the demands of teenagers.

The time has come to stop paying heed to temper tantrums from some 17-year-old kid when his public admission gets put on blast. For that matter, Laura Ingraham should discontinue putting him on blast. The best way to rise above is to stop giving the progressive liberal agenda the attention that keeps it going. We are all a part of the Making America Great Again movement so that we can proudly declare in 2020 that we will sustain the efforts to Keep America Great.
