Helsinki Talking Points, Act 1: Vladimir Putin, Scene 1

Talking Point: Arms Limitation

“We believe it necessary to work together further on — to interact on the disarmament agenda, military and technical cooperation. This includes the extension of the Strategic Offensive Arms Limitation Treaty. It’s a dangerous situation with a global American anti-missile defense system, it’s (ph) the implementation issues with the INF treaty. And, of course, the agenda of non-placement of weapons in space.”

Kudos to Time magazine for providing a transcript you can go to in order to find out what they are lying to you about. President Putin began his opening statement with concerns about arms proliferation. According to the above quote, he is interested in extending SALT. The New START treaty explains:

“Strategic Offensive Reductions: The Treaty between the United States of America and the Russian Federation on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms, also known as the New START Treaty, entered into force on February 5, 2011. Under the Treaty, the United States and Russia must meet the Treaty’s central limits on strategic arms by February 5, 2018; seven years from the date the Treaty entered into force. Each Party has the flexibility to determine for itself the structure of its strategic forces within the aggregate limits of the Treaty. These limits are based on the rigorous analysis conducted by Department of Defense planners in support of the 2010 Nuclear Posture Review.”

The idea behind these treaties is to significantly scale down the production and proliferation of nuclear armaments. The end goal is for a country to have only what is needed for defending itself and its allies, and to put an end to nuclear weapons. This goal is something everyone in both countries, as well as all around the world, should be cheering. However, considering that encouraging people to think for themselves is a huge no no in the mainstream media reporting, they are not going to tell you these things.

Hannibal Ad Portas

Our government is supposed to be of the people (meaning not career politicians, but regular citizens who take turns running the joint), for the people (meaning not in the interests of foreign governments or domestic corporate interests, nor their personal pockets, but the American people’s interests), by the people (meaning it is guided by the will of the governed). Why mention that?

Vladimir Putin is a boogeyman, our very own Hannibal. What does that mean, you ask? In ancient Rome, parents would scare their children into behaving by saying that the dreaded General Hannibal of Carthage was at the gates, ready to sack the city, and if they did not keep quiet, he would find them. The saying recalled to Roman minds the hardships and horrid wars they went through at Hannibal’s hands in the third century.

This should look familiar. It is the same tactic used by the uniparty today. “Putin is at the gates!” is a rallying cry used to demonize Russia as a whole, and Putin specifically. This tactic is used to frighten We, the People, into behaving the way the establishment wants us to behave. It is the only way to rule the governed when instead they are supposed to be serving the governed. It seems the establishment emperors have lost their clothes.

It is prudent to say Mr. Putin does not need any help at all to look scary. He does a fantastic job of that all by himself. Although, after reading his statements, one begins to question this dismissive portrayal as totally accurate. Perhaps he is merely looking out for the interests of Russia. While it is known the tactics he uses are unacceptable to the American mind, Vladimir Putin is, simply put, a Russian’s Russian.

Talking Point: Terrorism, Syria, and Israel

“In order to accomplish this level of successful cooperation in Syria, we have all the required components. Let me remind you of that. Both Russian and American military have acquired the useful experience of coordination of their action, established the operational channels of communication which permit it to avoid dangerous incidents and unintentional collisions in the air and in the ground.” Hopefully, Vlad knows what “unintentional” means.

“Also crushing (ph) terrorists in the southwest of Syria. The south of Syria should be brought to the full compliance with the treaty of 1974, about the separation of forces — about separation of forces of Israel and Syria. This will bring peace to Golan Heights, and bring more peaceful relationship between Syria and Israel, and also to provide security of the state of Israel.”

Read that again. Vladimir Putin desires peace in the Golan heights, eradicating terrorism in that region, and to provide security for the State of Israel. That must definitely get establishment panties tied in tiny tight knots. Here is a bit of salve for them. “Both Russian and American military have…established the operational channels of communication…” That must have happened after February, because a Russian mercenary team begs to differ. Unless the death and injury of 550 persons is how one sets up channels of communication.

Wait, What Treaty?

In 1974, Israel and Syria entered into an agreement in which they vowed to separate their forces and end conflicts in the region. It was signed on May 31, 1974, effectively ending the Yom Kippur War. There have been numerous attacks and counter attacks between the two countries ever since.

Crushing terrorists has not been a priority for quite some time. It seems that if mainstream media has its way, it will never be. Not wanting an in depth examination into events happening in the Middle East is because it will be found that the aggressors are the ones claiming to be the victims. Though archaeology disagrees, Israel is constantly cast in the light of an occupier while described as a murderous regime killing innocent men, women, and children of the Palestine Authority.

Meanwhile, innocent Israeli children huddle in stairways to hopefully avoid being hit by incoming rockets. For some reason it has become an outrage for a sovereign nation to protect the lives of its people, Arab and Jew alike. President Putin mentioned he had spoken to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss possibilities. It is up to the individual reader to decide if he can be believed.

Talking Point: Iran Nuke Deal

“We also mentioned our concern about the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA. Well, the U.S. — our U.S. counterparts are aware of our posture. Let me remind you that thanks to the Iranian nuclear deal, Iran became the most controlled country in the world. It submitted to the control of IAEA. It effectively ensured the exclusively peaceful nature of Iranian nuclear program and strengthened the nonproliferation regime.”

Claiming the U.S. pull out of the Iran Deal was wrong due to Iran fulfilling their part of the deal, it would appear President Trump did not make the decision Putin wanted. There is no way Trump did not know Putin’s position before making the decision. Putin’s reaction is yet another reason to scratch your head wondering why the establishment does not embrace him. However, “Putin ad portas!”

Mr. Putin’s statement raises a question. If Iran was obeying the terms of the deal, why did its government brag that it could have nuclear enrichment befitting a weapon in as little as four days? As explained in the Washington Free Beacon: “The disclosure has roiled Trump administration insiders and nuclear experts who have been warning for months that Iran never fully disclosed the nature of its nuclear weapons work and progress as international leaders struggle to fix the deal....” While suspicions ran high, no one knows which is the true lie. Either Iran was lying about being close to a nuclear weapon or was lying about fulfilling the terms of the deal.

Iran could not have been four days from becoming a nuclear power if they truly obeyed the terms. In other words, when Iran claimed only a “peaceful nature” to their nuclear program to develop nuclear energy as an alternative energy source, those monitoring the regime apparently took them at their word.

Talking Point: The Ukrainian “Crisis”

“While we discussed the internal Ukrainian crisis, we paid special attention to the bona fide implementation of Minsk Agreements by Kiev. At the same time, United States could be more decisive in nudging the Ukrainian leadership, and encourage it to work actively on this.”

Translation: “Trump took me to the woodshed for neglecting responsibilities I accepted when I signed the Minsk agreements. I wish he would do that with Ukraine.” Notice he spends less than a minute on Ukraine. This 2016 article from Deutsche Welle explains: “According to Minsk II, one of the core provisions for a political solution is constitutional reform for Ukraine, to be followed by local elections in the separatist-held regions.”

“The reform is meant to guarantee the autonomy of these regions. Among other things, this means that the local administration would have influence in naming judges and state prosecutors, and that the so-called ‘people's militias’ would be legalized. Additionally, Ukraine must commit to financing the separatist regions - yet to this day it hasn't done so.”

Given Putin’s statement and the background, two questions are raised. First, why does Putin’s response sound like a toddler lamenting the bias of a parent? Second, if Putin is Trump’s puppeteer, why did Putin basically get whittled down by Trump? The narrative of a Putin-Trump regime crumbles when what is being said is allowed to be heard. Putin does not sound or act like a puppet master. To be continued...
