Do Antifa and the Democrats Go Hand in Hand?

What Is Antifa?

Those who associate with Antifa consider themselves anti-fascist and anti-capitalist. Their mission is to harass and confront those whom they deem racist, fascist or right-wing. Their tactics often involve direct intimidation and violence. The group consists of a motley mix of liberals, socialists, progressives, communists, and anarchists. Its roots date back to the 20th Century, and the lineage can be traced back to the Antifaschistische Aktion group of communists in Nazi Germany.

The modern Antifa is said to have been born out of the punk rock movement of the 1970’s and the effort to battle what they claimed to be neo-Nazi skinheads from influencing the musical genre. Antifa also targets events that showcase capitalism. It is very common to see a significant Antifa presence at events such as the G7 or G20 economic summits.

Left Versus Right-wing Nazism?

The grand fallacy that seems to be the operating system that fuels the Antifa movement is that their efforts are not in vain because they are battling the evils of capitalism and supposed “right-wing Nazism.”

The truth is that Nazism is rooted in leftism socialist ideology. The National Socialist German Workers' Party, a.k.a. Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei believed in centralized planning and massive social benefit projects. The Nazis believed in socialized medicine and were inherently anti-capitalist. How these facts of history have escaped the masses is mind-boggling.

Right-wing principles do not align with the views and actions of the Nazis. Control of mass communication and propaganda efforts was a hallmark of the Nazis. Attempts to silence dissenting voices were often violent. Does this sound familiar? It should, but not coming from the right.

Why Not Denounce This Behavior?

The Democrat Party needs to be asked why it is unwilling to denounce Antifa. Why are liberal journalists, such as CNN’s Chris Cuomo, so eager to defend this violent, leftist group?

“Legitimation of violence against a demonized internal enemy is the heart of fascism”—R. Paxton, Anatomy of Fascism

Cuomo is not the only person on the left who has come to the defense of Antifa. Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine recently voiced his support for the leftist group. His Republican challenger this November, Corey Stewart, took to Twitter recently to call Kaine out for his favorable Antifa commentary.

We just can’t have this far-left violence representing Virginia in the US Senate anymore

One has to wonder why prominent Democrat voices, such as Kaine, are speaking so favorably for a group that has caused so much mayhem and violence. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that his youngest son is a member of the controversial group. Last year, Linwood “Woody” Kaine was sentenced to a year of probation and ordered to pay $236 in fines for resisting arrest after he, and others disrupted a Minnesota rally in support of President Trump.

Are Democrats supporting Antifa?

It sure seems like Democrats are supporting Antifa. There have been numerous examples of prominent Democrats supporting the “anti-fascist” group. Perhaps the glove needs to come off, and the hand exposed.

It appears as if the Democrats have reached deep into their sordid history, hooding the heavy-handed, arm twisting, hateful tactics of their party and renaming it, Antifa. Only this time, the common enemy chosen to unite their lynch mob mentality faction through hate, are President Trump and right-wing conservatives.

If the Trump Administration does indeed press lawmakers to label Antifa a domestic terrorist organization, will the Democrats and its most vocal representatives, still champion Antifa and the causes it supports?

  1. Antifa has taken on a much stronger stance since 2016 and truly believes it's cause is just. The only time the word "just" should be used in a sentence with Antifa is where Antifa has JUST been disbanned due to extreme violent tendencies and terroristic activities.

  2. I WATCHED ON TV AS ANTIFA MARCHED THROUGH THE STREETS OF BERKELEY,CA FRIGHTENED FOR MY GRANDSON'S SAFETY AS THEY MOVED CLOSER TO THE CAMPUS. HE WAS A GUARD AT THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY. I WAS ABLE TO CONTACT HIM BY PHONE, ASKING HIM IF HE COULD LEAVE HIS POST AND GO BACK TO HIS APARTMENT WHERE HE WOULD BE SAFE. HE STANDS ALMOST 6' AND COULD POSSIBLY PROTECT HIMSELF, HOWEVER NOT AGAINST A MOB LIKE THIS ONE. THE SAD THING IS THAT THE MAYOR MOST CERTAINLY TOLD THE POLICE TO STAND DOWN, DESPITE THE DESTRUCTION THESE THUGS AND THUGETTES WERE CREATING. POLICE GAVE THEM REIGN AND CONTINUOUSLY MOVED BACK. THIS WHOLE PICTURE LOOKED JUST LIKE THE NEWSREELS (I'M 75) SHOWN IN THEATERS WHEN I WAS A CHILD SHOWING FOOTAGE OF WHAT TRANSPIRED IN GERMANY BOTH DURING THE TIME OF THE 2ND WW AND THE AFTERMATH OF THE DEATH CAMPS, FURNACES AND PILES PF CORPSES, SOME 20' HIGH. THE CORPSES WERE STRIPPED OF SHOES, SOME CLOTHES, AND WERE FOR THE MOST PART NAKED. SOME FOOTAGE SHOWED HITLER'S TEEN YOUTH GANGS INTIMIDATING PEOPLE WALKING DOWN THE STREET AS THEY SHOUTED AND SCREAMED AT PASSER-BYS. AT THE TIME I SAW THESE CLIPS, I WAS TOO YOUNG TO UNDERSTAND THE POLITICS OF THE WAR THAT HAD JUST ENDED, BUT THEY REMAINED IMPRINTED IN MY SUB-CONSCIENCE ONLY TO BE FLASHED BACK DURING THE 50'S AND 60'S; SEEING THE KU KLUX KLAN IN ACTION IN THE SOUTH. ONE THING STANDS OUT IN ALL THESE IMAGES; BESIDES THE VIOLENCE,THE HATRED ON PEOPLE'S FACES. AND FROM A SPIRITUAL STANDPOINT: HOW SATAN MANIPULATES PEOPLE TO STIR UP HIS AGENDA TO CAUSE MURDER, VIOLENCE, AND TO SEPARATE MAN KIND, ONE FROM ANOTHER.
