President Trump to Host a High-level U.N. Meeting Regarding the Continuing ‘Iran’ Crisis



President Kick’s Off U.N. High-level Week

The President will chair a meeting of the Security Council to address Iran’s violations of International Law and the general instability Iran sews throughout the entire Middle East Region. He will also introduce “Counter-Narcotics” which addresses the growing domestic and global crisis of drugs with a “Global Call to Action” to the assembled World Leaders.

“Presidency of Firsts” includes an open program of work meeting on the situation in Nicaragua. The Security Council’s first meeting on how corruption affects global conflicts in Tunisia, South Sudan, DRC, and Venezuela is at the top of the agenda. Furthermore, attempts to update efforts to make Peace-Keeping Missions more effective, efficient, and accountable are being discussed. A resolution will be introduced that would require the U.N. to hold peace-keepers accountable.

“Regular Business” will include events in Syria regarding the use of chemical weapons by the Assad Regime, and all events will be held in the Open Chamber which is part of the Trump Administration’s push for transparency. “The UN Web TV Channel is available 24 hours a day with selected live programming of United Nations meetings and events as well as with pre-recorded video features and documentaries on various global issues.” You can watch here.
