The Curious Case of Christine Fair

Socialist Indoctrination Centers

Throughout the last seven to eight years, college campuses have been known to be the pinnacle of Socialist indoctrination centers, producing bastions of snowflake producing liberal arts students who want to spend $70,000 on a degree in Gender Studies, yet tout themselves to be pillars of free thinking. Unfortunately, due to the types of students coming out of these establishments, the world is seeing universities and colleges more and more as useless, expensive, liabilities towards the future of children.

Trade School Anyone?

Over the last three years, these efforts to squash free speech have been ramped up. Evergreen College is losing money and applicants after it complied with the race-baiting Social Justice Warriors who called for a “no-white day.” When liberal professor Bret Weinstein did not comply, he was called “racist Nazi” for not going along with this day.

DePaul University barred conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro from entering the grounds of the university on the threat of arrest. The same university stopped late night host and comedian Steven Crowder from coming, as well.

These are but a handful of examples where supposed centers of higher education, thought to be areas of free speech and figuring out hard to digest ideas, are producing more and more ultra sensitive, sheep-like creatures incapable of handling disagreements who would apparently shriek instead of using dialogue. One can only hope for the future of education for America’s children.

Professor Fair

Enter the last month or so, Professor Christine Fair, who is a touted as a Distinguished Associate professor at Georgetown University. Recently, this professor had her Twitter blue check removed, and her account has been suspended.

Reason? Her latest tweet, “Look at this chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist’s arrogated entitlement. All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminist laugh as they take their last gasp. Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes!”

The problem with this tweet, other than the rampant double standard it shows, is the assumption of guilt even before any facts are delivered. This tweet was in light of the current Brett Kavanaugh hearings.

Twitter initially suspended her account “on accident.” Reinstated, she then goes right back tweeting, “Fox News Failed to silence me. Thank you all for sending @Twitter messages of support. I do NOT and NEVER have condoned violence. My tweet, as I have explained, was an attempt to make YOU as UNCOMFORTABLE as I am using the language of the abuse I received by the hundreds." Fair tweeted this on Tuesday afternoon.

Just days later, she released another tweet basically issuing a call to action. It seems as though this distinguished associate professor cannot have civil discourse, as she in her blog throws ad hominem attacks, resorts to general name calling and engages in verbal assault. Read one of her blog entries regarding her attacks on a Campus Reform reporter who wanted clarity on her latest tweet, before she was suspended. Tenacious Hellpussy, is the title of her blog, believe it or not.

Georgetown, What?

Georgetown is said to have adopted a version of the Chicago statement regarding the notion of university environments. They state, “It is not the proper role of a university to insulate individuals from ideas and opinions they find unwelcome, disagreeable, or even deeply offensive.

Deliberation or debate may not be suppressed because the ideas put forth are thought by some or even by most members of the University community to be "offensive, unwise, immoral, or ill-conceived” which is fine and as it should be except when the staff, who basically holds the power to pass or fail students hangs in the balance. The discourse of opposing viewpoints can be difficult. It is especially true when it is with professors, who hold the power.

Some students have expressed their discomfort, as with the case of Christine Fair. According to the Daily Wire, one anonymous student said, “I don’t think people that Georgetown actually employs should be held to a significantly lower standard. And clearly, any of her students that see this rant are going to feel threatened if they have opinions that differ from hers.”

Georgetown staff has had a history of this kind of behavior. Christine Fair is just one of many professors who faced public backlash for tweeting out rather hostile and very inappropriate calls to action. Jeff Bernstein tweeted that he had hoped The Conservative Millennial Allie Stuckey would have a “#MeToo moment” to curb her “insensitivity” to the issue.

Again, #MeToo is about sexual assault and rape awareness. Instantly, many found this man hoping that Allie Stuckey would get raped or at least sexually assaulted as reprehensible of a man as ever, and called him out on it.

Will the Tenacious Hellpussy and Cohorts Continue to Teach at Georgetown?

With the direction that Georgetown is headed, if this type of behavior continues from their staff, enrollment numbers will decrease, which will hurt the incoming funds thereby increasing tuition costs and decreasing enrollment numbers even more.

Time will tell if Georgetown continues their efforts to promote more ideas, more discourse, more dialogue, more differing opinions than the leftist echo chambers these universities are currently known to be, in the hopes they open the doors for more conservative speakers on campus.
