Corrupt New York Establishment Wins

Republicans Lose Senate and Governor Race

Despite running against a governor known for lack of transparency and infamous for saying America was never that great, Republican Marc Molinaro was defeated by a wide margin. Unlike Cuomo, Molinaro grew up in real America and rose through merit, not corruption. In the Senate Kirsten Gillibrand has transformed from blue-collar Democrat to left-wing extremist. Chele Farley challenged her and stood for conservative policy on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the border, but the corrupt New York Democrat establishment prevailed.

The Governor seat should have been a shoo-in for Molinaro, but Andrew Cuomo, brother of Fake News CNN Chris Cuomo, has now been re-elected. Andrew Cuomo is known for his embrace of the radical left as well as being a Wall Street favorite. In addition, he is an entrenched establishment politician. Cuomo famously once stated “Who are they? Right to life, pro-assault weapons, anti-gay — if that’s who they are, they have no place in the state of New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are.” Cuomo by all metrics should have been defeated. His entire mission is to oppose The President and his agenda. He also clearly seeks to discriminate against New Yorkers based on their politics.

Another infamous statement from Governor Cuomo is “America was never that great.” In a conservative state, or even in New York, a statement like that would have ended his career just a few years ago. His pandering to left-wing radicals shows how inauthentic he indeed is. Cuomo likely has his eye on the presidency in 2020, so he has moved to the far left. His disdain for everyday Americans is palpable.

Permanent Political Class Wins The Senate

The Senate Race was entirely different; Chele Farley a New York businesswoman ran against Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Gillibrand is famous for calling to abolish ICE and is also believed to be auditioning for a Presidential run. Chele Farley stood with ICE and law enforcement and had the support of President Trump. She was a big advocate for lowering the tax burden for New Yorkers as well. Gillibrand has flipped flopped on many of the issues of the day. Despite this, the New York establishment won.

The Republican party had impressive candidates across the board, many of whom support President Trump. The grassroots must be activated so that next time MAGA Republicans can win the governor and Senator seats. Despite all this, there are parts of New York that are pro-Trump, especially in upstate New York. If Republicans turn out in mass and the party nominates candidates that can appeal to working-class Independents and Reagan Democrats a Republican can win a Senate seat or governor, even in New York.
